Filmkraft continues its focus on the documentary format. Mette Cheng Munthe-Kaas becomes new documentary consultant at Filmkraft
Filmkraft Rogaland has hired a documentary consultant for the next two years. On January 1, 2025, Mette Cheng Munthe-Kaas (52) will start her one-year term in a 50% position at the regional film center. Mette is based in Nesodden, and she is an Emmy-nominated and award-winning producer, editor and general manager of the production company Ten Thousand Images AS, which she established in 2014.
With over 25 years of experience in documentary filmmaking at home and abroad, she has produced and co-produced more than ten feature-length documentaries, including the acclaimed No Word for Worry (2014), the IDFA winner Nowhere to Hide (2016), and the Oscar-shortlisted Hidden Letters (2022). As a minority producer, she has also worked on award-winning films such as Life of Ivanna (2021) and Myanmar Diaries (2022).
"We are very pleased that Mette will be part of Filmkraft from January. She brings a wealth of insight and experience from both the national and international documentary film industry and the funding apparatus. And we know Mette well from before, both as a producer for our own director Zaradasht M. Hairan's documentaries "Nowhere to hide" and "Bong Thom" which Filmkraft has supported with grants and we have followed her work for years. With this appointment, we continue our commitment and focus on bringing out and highlighting the important stories and voices from Rogaland" quote; Anne Lærdal, general manager
