GREEN FOCUS
Filmkraft will focus on green administration of the film center, and lead by example. We are continuously working to strengthen our plan for green administration and operations. We will also contribute to the production companies gaining more knowledge about green production.
Here on this page we will continuously inform you about processes surrounding the implementation of green focus and eventually compliance requirements in project applications nationally.
A national working group has been established with the aim of implementing the German Ecological Standard (GES) to the Nordic countries and developing a Nordic Ecological Standard (NES) that applies to all Nordic countries. We will inform you about this work as it progresses and training in the requirements to be implemented will be arranged once the group has set a target for follow-up.
Filmkraft has implemented several measures to promote sustainability and reduce our environmental footprint. Our employees sort waste and actively work to limit paper use and printing. Our latest merchandise, green shopping bags with Filmkraft's logo, is a conscious small step towards reducing the use of plastic bags.

We deliver all technical aids such as computers and the like for reuse/disposal at suppliers. In addition to this, we have been collecting well-used Christmas decorations for the 10th year, which are taken out every Christmas.
Our biggest investment in 2024 is a dedicated Filmkraft bike, complete with helmet and lock, available at the film center for all employees. This bike has been heavily used by our commuter consultants in their free time, and is perfect for exploring the local area or running quick errands.
We are proud to take these small steps towards a more sustainable future.

Everyone who works at Filmkraft is offered a Home-Work-Home scheme for public transport to work, and we are conscious in operating the film centre and travel activities to limit our carbon footprint. If it is possible to take the bus/train/drive together when we are going out to travel to festivals and conventions, we do so. In addition, employees have access to changing rooms at Sandnes Town Hall and their bicycle parking, so that it is possible to cycle to work.

Sustainable film production is high on the agenda in the film industry in Norway. Filmkraft agrees that it is important for the social mission to support sustainable film production in Norway and we will contribute to the production companies gaining knowledge about green production. We have a green focus as a separate point in our strategy and emphasize plans for green production in applications and Filmkraft shares information about digital workshops/courses and information for green film production and created this landing page on the topic on our website towards the end of the year.
