Best Practices – leadership, ethics, law, networking and pitching

Filmkraft continues its focus on improving competence and industry development. 

Filmkraft invites you to a two-day Best Practices for vitamin injection with a focus on networks in the region, management, law, ethics and pitch.
This Best Practice is aimed at professional producers who are active in Rogaland. We want to build up producers who create jobs and build the industry in the region.

Short presentations of the participants and their ongoing projects, the day focuses on management and law. Dinner will be served in the evening, all participants will stay overnight at the hotel. The focus on 5 Nov is ethics, law, networking and pitching.

Focus on management with Hege Skjerven Clausen and Stig H. Christiansen followed by rights clearance with lawyer and partner at Ræder Bing, Stine Helen Pettersen.

Hege Skjerven Clausen is one of Filmkraft's regular professional supervisors and is currently employed as Executive Producer at Viaplay Norway, where she is responsible for all Nordic drama and feature film production. Before joining Viaplay, she held the same position at HBO MAX. In addition to her experience from the major streaming services, Hege has extensive experience in the industry where she has worked for several Norwegian production companies with different types of concepts in different genres. In 2017, she developed EXIT for NRK, which she produced the following year. EXIT is NRK's most watched series ever and has been sold to a number of countries. Following its success, she produced several drama series. Both for Discovery and Netflix.

Stig Harry Christiansen lives in Stavanger. Christiansen has a 3-year Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Birmingham in England and a 2-year MBA in International Business Economics from the University of Aalborg in Denmark. He has worked in oil and gas almost his entire life until 2023. He started as a steelworker at Heidrun and has worked in Aker as, Transocean, Prosafe, Statoil / StatoilHydro, add energy group, Soiltech and – today – in Nordic Unmanned. Mostly held management positions such as SVP, CFO and CEO since 2000.
He has also held and still holds board positions. Chairman of Viking Fotball AS for several years, chairman of Zaptec ASA (now deputy chairman), chairman of Ex Tech, and board member of ResQ and currently board member of Novatech AS. Stig H. Christiansen has primarily worked as a manager in growth companies, companies in change or companies in crisis – the latter especially in the last 10 years.

Stine Helén Pettersen is an expert in copyright, trademark law, media law and contracts, and also works with employment law, privacy and marketing law related to her industry expertise. Stine assists a wide range of Norwegian and international players within the media, culture and entertainment industry, with a particular focus on music, film and TV, theatre and event organizers.

The day starts with a focus on ethics. What are current issues for documentary filmmakers and the relationship between law and ethics. What is ethically problematic and what is legally problematic together with lawyer and partner in Ræder Bing Christian With (This session is digital). Next comes Helene Granqvist, who is one of Filmkraft's regular pitch supervisors. She will take us through pitching and the importance of presenting your audiovisual projects. How do you find your voice, what motivates you and how to create security.

Christian With is an expert in copyright, trademark law, media law, privacy and contracts, and also works with employment law and marketing law related to his industry expertise. Christian assists Norwegian and international businesses within entertainment, technology and media, with a particular focus on film and TV, e-sports and gaming, and financing.

Helene Granqvist is a Swedish producer with more than 30 years of experience in film and television. She graduated from the Copenhagen Academy of Dramatic Arts and worked in the early years as a production designer for film, television and theater. Since 2000, she has worked as a film producer, and in 2011 she started the production company Nordic Factory Film. Her films have been screened at Sundance, Toronto, Tribeca and Cannes. In addition to working as a producer, Helene Granqvist regularly takes on assignments as a pitch coach and speaker, both in Sweden and internationally. She has held workshops for, among others, Baltic Event, Nordic Genre Boost & Nordic Talent, Discovery program at the Gothenburg Film Festival, Finnish Film Affair and for New Nordic Films in Haugesund. Helene has been president of WIFT Sweden (Women in Film & Television) since 2013 and she has also been president of WIFT International since 2018. She is also a member of the European Film Academy.

 

This event is for our professional film industry and targets producers in the region.
