FILMKRAFT TALENT

FILMKRAFT TALENT is a program for young filmmakers living in Rogaland. Are you curious about the film industry? Are you wondering if you want to become a filmmaker? Do you want help finding your narrative voice?

In FILMKRAFT TALENT, we offer young filmmakers workshops, film projects and award grants for film production, guidance and travel.

We advise on education and act as a link between young filmmakers and the established film industry in Rogaland with, among other things, the internship scheme.

For film initiatives for children and young people from 1st to 10th grade, contact Den Kulturelle Skolesekken.

Filmkraft Talent works purposefully to identify young film talents. We will inform, contribute to personal development and guide young film talents in our region. The goal is to help young filmmakers to take the step into a professional career in the field of film and help them along the way to find their own narrative voice.

Our work with young talent is carried out in collaboration with the regional film industry, which helps to organize workshops, through the mentoring and internship schemes. More than half of the funds we spend annually on Filmkraft Talent projects go towards mentoring and lecture fees, as well as production assignments for the established industry.

Our largest contributor is the Ministry of Culture via the Norwegian Film Institute. We collaborate closely with several cultural actors from the region, such as BUT v/Rogaland Teater and several upper secondary schools, the University of Stavanger, youth clubs and youth culture centers - such as Metropolis in Stavanger, medieLAB in Sandnes and Hemmingstad Kultursenter in Haugesund.
